Amaravathi or Amravati, a village at Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Situated on the banks of Krishna River in Amaravathimandal of Guntur revenue division.A village part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, situated at 35 km west of the foundation stone of Amaravathilocate at Uddandarayunipalem. Amaravati, capital of Andhra Pradesh derives its name from the village. It's a heritage townand was the capital of the old Satavahana Kingdom.Amaralingeswara temple in the village is a PancharamaKshetradenoted for the Hindus. It's also a historic Buddhist site, and the AmaravathiMahachaityastupa was constructedhere between the 2nd century B.C. and the 3rd century B.C.
